Had a garage sale today with the roommate and the parents.  We did pretty well, not fantastic or anything.  It was one of the college's homecommings so we think we might have lost some people to that.  We made it fun by getting donuts and a lot of people we knew came mostly just to say hey.  I now have more food-money for Prague!

Today the parents told me they'd pay for half of my plane ticket to Prague.  0___O   I'm so happy and thankful they're as on board with this as they are.  I should expect better of them, but years of treating me like I can't tie my own shoes has kind of set into my mind.  Plus, they're super protective (I'm the baby) and tend to over think things ( Read more... )

Went to the dentist last week for a cleaning/checkup.   I hadn't been in over two years and they found three cavities.  Got them filled today though.  One wasn't even that big of a deal, he asked if I'd rather try to do it without numbing since the location would mean the lower right side of my face would be numb for about four hours.  So I did it ( Read more... )

This morning I had a phone-interview with the director of the school in Prague.  It wasn't so much an interview as them confirming that I'm a real person that's interested in the program (not some punk just using it as an excuse to get into the country on their parent's money), and a chance for me to ask any questions.  Which I did, and he was very ( Read more... )

I haven't even finished the Prague application yet but decided to check out a little basic Czech.  It's hard, yo!  My brother in law speaks fluent Spanish and quite a bit of Slovenian and he said that yep, Czech and Slovenian are pretty similar and a lot harder than Spanish.  To ears that hear Spanish every day at least ( Read more... )
